As an integral part of the 3rd biennial New York Butoh Festival, Ximena Garnica will direct a new interdisciplinary performance piece inspired by traditional Japanese ghost stories (kaidan), and the Edo-era practice of telling these tales by progressive diminishing candlelight (hyaku monogatari). Collaborating artists include composer Billy Fox - the Kitsune Ensemble; dancers Takuya Ishide, Daiji Meguro and Yuko Kaseki; and video - installation artist Shige Moriya.
