SHELTER

Performance
August 19, 2011 - 6:00pm

80 North Ferry Road
Shelter Island, New York

On Friday, August 19 at 6pm The Watermill Center presents a site-specific work at Sylvester Manor created and designed by The Watermill Center International Summer Program Participant Artists, curated by Robert Wilson.

SHELTER will take place throughout several performance ‘rooms’ cut into the landscape of one of the large hidden fields on the 243-acre grounds of Sylvester Manor. The landscape design is carried out in collaboration between the artists of Watermill and the staff of Sylvester Manor.

This event marks Watermill’s fourth collaboration between a local institution and the Watermill International Summer Program. Past collaborations have included The Bridge and Guild Hall. This year The Watermill Center is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the world of avant garde performance to this incredible historic East End site. The Watermill Center is thankful to Sylvester Manor for their commitment to this ambitious project.

Refreshments will be provided by SunsetBeach. Many thanks to the following individuals for their support: Andre Balazs, Cecilia Dean, Allison Sarofim & Stuart Parr, Russell Piccione, and The Watermill Center Community Board.
