Erling Kagge & Petter Skavlan in conversation | Silence in the Age of Noise

Erling Kagge is a Norwegian explorer, author, publisher, mountaineer, lawyer, art collector, publisher and father to three teenage girls. He was the first in history to reach the ‘three poles’ – North, South and the summit of Mount Everest. He walked unsupported to the South Pole – fifty days without radio contact. Kagge still walks a lot and knows much about silence. His book Silence in the Age of Noise will be published by Knopf in November.

Petter Skavlan is a Norwegian writer and screenwriter. His work in the cinema has been nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe. He is currently working on projects with artists as varied as Brian De Palma and Marina Abramovic. For years Skavlan has been trying to keep up with Erling Kagge on their frequent walks.
