Klingon Terran Research Ensemble

The goal of the project “u” is to create and perform an authentic Klingon Opera, here on earth, with a human cast. In order to be able to perform an authentic Klingon opera, we first need to establish its musical system, the tradition of themes and narrative modes, the instruments, the musicians’ techniques, and the visual/theatrical interpretation. We will also be working with local performers to further our research into the Klingon “way of the perfect scream” performance technique. There will be a workshop at the center on Klingon vocal improvisation led by Thomas Johannsen, who is the musical director and coach of the Klingon Terran Research Ensemble in The Hague. To conclude my residency I am presenting a lecture on the developments made at the center and will give a short workshop/performance for the public on Klingon musical practice.

We would love to hear from you! Please complete the form and let us know how we can assist you. The information you provide is confidential and will not be used for any other purpose.
