John Atwood

In Residence:
May 29, 2013 - June 13, 2013
Discipline:
Photography
Country:
United States

Using still and moving images set against drawings and recollection, Atwood’s project hopes to expand the space between a photograph and the moment it is developed. After shooting 30 to 40 rolls of film in Springfield, Chicago, and New York over a period of two weeks, he will use graphite sketches to recall the form and composition of specific shots before developing them.

Atwood will also create a video documenting the original shooting environment that will provide a new context for the photographs.
