Date:

Time:
7:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Venue:
The Watermill Center

Clifford Ross pushes past the limitations of digital media in a variety of ways—from creating large-scale, high-resolution images that offer an ultra-sharp view of the natural world to advancing computer animation to dramatic levels of colorful abstraction. Ironically, he is equally committed to the craft of “analog” art—constantly seeking out new materials and methods much as painters and sculptors have done since the Renaissance.Ross will lecture and sit down with Joe Thompson to discuss his work and upcoming exhibition, Landscape Seen and Imagined, opening May 2015 at MASS MoCA. The exhibition will feature new works including a massive black and white negative print of Colorado’s Mount Sopris, printed on wood and an immersive version of Ross’ Harmonium video world, accompanied by live music ranging from the classical canon to indie rock.

The Scaler Summer Lecture Series at The Watermill Center is possible thanks to the generous support of the Scaler Foundation.
