Drawing on images compiled for a monograph, Ron Athey will present a narrative that includes 32 years of performance images, giving context of the era they were made in: death rock, industrial, AIDS pandemic, post-AIDS. He will also touch on influences such as early RE/SEARCH tabloids, psycho/neuro acoustics, COUM transmissions, and Johanna Went, an American performance artist. Religious and esoteric traditions will be explored as well.
