Workshops

L’Incoronazione di Poppea
Robert Wilson will complete Claudio Monteverdi’s cycle in this workshop that will serve to finalize the design and staging of the trilogy, which also includes Orfeo and Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria. A coproduction by Teatro Alla Scala in Milan and Opera National de Paris premiering in 2014.

Lecture on Nothing
Commissioned and produced by the Ruhrtriennale Festival for the 2012 edition this workshop will be the final development phase of john cage’s famous work which will be performed by Robert Wilson himself

Les Nègres
Produced by the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Paris, Robert Wilson is developing a staging concept for his first mise-en-scène of a Jean Genet play to premiere in November 2013

Musee du Louvre
For the series of the Louvre “Grand Invite,” Robert Wilson is developing the concept and design for a series of installations, exhibitions and performances that will take place in various locations throughout the most famous museum in the world from November 2013 through February 2014.

Brazil
With composer Philip Glass and Brazilian artists, Robert Wilson is developing a new production as the paramount of a three year project in collaboration with Change Performing Arts and The Watermill Center.

Dom Perignon
This workshop detailed the final staging of an exclusive evening of celebration conceived and designed by Robert Wilson with music composed by Alexandre Desplat and interpreted by  Lang Lang at Versailles this September.

Circo Equestre Squeglia
In collaboration with Napoli Teatro Festival and Changing Performing Arts, Robert Wilson is developing a new work by Raffaele Viviani, one of Italy’s most important playwrights and musicians of the twentieth century.

Peter Pan
The Berliner Ensemble is commissioning a new musical theatre work to be developed by Robert Wilson in collaboration with composers CocoRosie based on James Matthew Barrie’s play to premiere in Berlin in April 2013.

This workshop marks the fourth collaboration with the Prague National Theatre which is producing a new original creation based on the works of writer and satirist Karl Kraus and starring actress Soňa Cervená.

Tallinn Festival
This workshop was the exploring phase of a collaboration between Estonian composer Arvo Pärt and Robert Wilson to premiere in Tallinn in 2015, produced by Eesti Kontsert.

The Old Woman
Robert Wilson and Mikhail Baryshnikov are collaborating on a new project based on the work by Russian Surrealist poet and writer Daniil Kharms.

Art and Science: Insights into Consciousness
The third annual workshop will bring together a new group of exceptionally merited scientists and artists in an inspirational setting to foster an interdisciplinary discussion about consciousness. This year’s workshop will start with the consideration of the first mutual gaze between mother and infant constituting an early form of inter-subjectivity and resonant consciousness and the related issues of the neurosciences and the arts.
