In Process @ The Watermill Center is our ongoing series of open rehearsals, workshops, artist talks and studio visits that invite the community to engage with the work of our international Artists-in-Residence.

The Watermill Center invites audiences of all ages and backgrounds to gain unique insight into the creative process of artists, cultivating an understanding of how artists from across the globe develop new work.

In Process allows direct engagement between the community and our Artists-in-Residence in the midst of their residency, giving them the opportunity to present and receive feedback on their work, and continue the development process throughout the remainder of their stay.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Colectivo Zoológico was born in 2012 from an encounter between young multidisciplinary artists from Chile and France, committed to research and develop new languages in contemporary theatre. The collective is devoted to the creation of scenic experiences through the use of audiovisual technologies. Utilizing live video, projection mapping and sound mixing, among others, Colectivo Zoológico questions spectators and artists about the place of men and women in our late-capitalism society.

Eileen O’Kane Kornreich is a visual artist based in New York City. In 1978, Eileen helped to re-establish Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton as a DIY gallery for artists’ solo shows. She moved on to Manhattan and Brooklyn setting up artists’ studios as short-term galleries until the late 1980s. When family responsibilities forced her to alter her art making practice in the 1990s, Eileen turned her focus to helping with funding artist-run non-profit organizations.

Laurie Lambrecht, a native of Bridgehampton, is a visual artist working in photography and fiber. She has had numerous solo exhibitions in the US and abroad. Her photographs are in the collection of museums including the National Gallery of Art and the Parrish Art Museum.

Toni Ross is a sculptor whose focus moves between the elemental geometries of containers, cubes, lines, and totems to monumental, site-responsive installations in which the physical, cerebral, and the architectural meet. Since 2016, she has embarked on large-scale installations that are unique in their engagement of both the environment and the viewer.

Maya Watanabe is a Peruvian visual artist who works with video installations. Her work has been exhibited at: Palais de Tokyo, Matadero Madrid, Kadist Art Foundation SF, Das Fridericianum, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima, and Kyoto Art Center among others. She has been featured in festivals like Videobrasil, LOOP, FILE, Transitio MX, Madrid Abierto, Havana Film Festival, and Beijing Biennale.

Agustina Muñoz is an Argentinian artist who works in performance and films. Working with the concepts of group and individuality, intimacy and collectiveness, Muñoz makes solo performances as well as collective pieces. She works with different artists in videos and live performances. Heritage, memory, desire and destiny are key topics in her work.

Watermill’s mission is to provide artists and thinkers the opportunity to focus on the development of their work and practice. Artists-in-Residence have gone on to perform at venues and festivals including the New Museum, Roulette, PS122, American Realness, Clocktower Gallery, Performa, Vienna’s Donaufestival, Kampnagel in Hamburg, CPR – Center for Performance Research, and the Baryshnikov Arts Center.
