ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Hope Sandrow, a Community Fellow at The Watermill Center, is a conceptual artist whose art practice is her way of life. Working with video, mixed media, installation, sculpture, new media, performance and social practice, Sandrow presents the natural history of everyday life. Her work is featured in several public collections including the MET, MOMA, Whitney Museum, Corcoran Gallery, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and Parrish Art Museum. Sandrow is the recipient of the Artmatters Fellowship and Skowhegan Governors Award. Publications include Artforum, Art in America, Artnews, Bomb, Flash Art, New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, and the Washington Post.

Sandrow will be presenting The Fabric of time and space spacetime, her project commissioned by the US State Dept “Art in Embassies”, permanently installed (November 2018) in the US Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. Interacting with native cultures and art, her work mirrors and informs the rich collection of Indonesian works on display at The Watermill Center.
