“Ritual into Drama” explores the ways in which everyday rituals become transformed into dramatic gestures on stage. This talk forms part of his new book on craftsmanship. A senior working, writing, and administering sociologist, Mr. Sennett is Professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics, and the Bemis Professor of Social Sciences at MIT. He teaches in the Cities Programme and trains doctoral students in the sociology of culture. He is a successful public intellectual, who covers a range of so-called “specialisms” but is called upon to tell us as a society who we are and how we got here.
